Blockwork is the backbone of a lot of Sydney construction, from basement and retaining walls to lift cores and boundary walls. It needs to be laid accurately and reinforced exactly to the engineer's design, because most of it ends up hidden behind render or backfill.

Wall height
Taller walls need more reinforcement, scaffolding and engineering.
Block type
Standard grey block is cheaper than face or rock-faced block.
Core-filling
Reinforced, core-filled walls take longer than unreinforced block.

What is core-filled blockwork?
Hollow concrete blocks laid with steel reinforcement in the cores, which are then filled with concrete. It makes a very strong wall for retaining and structural use.
Can blockwork be rendered?
Yes. Most residential block walls are rendered or painted. We lay them straight and flush so they are ready for render.
Do you do supply-and-lay?
Yes, or labour-only if your builder is supplying the block.
Do you work on commercial projects?
Yes. We lay blockwork for builders on commercial and multi-unit projects across Sydney.
